About me

M.Sc.Psych. Stefan Passvogel

My clinical focus is on adult attachment patterns and the treatment of attachment disturbances, with a particular emphasis on the Three Pillars Approach. I trained in this method with Daniel P. Brown and continue to work under ongoing supervision with David S. Elliott. Since 2023, I have been a speaker on this topic at the MEG Annual Congress and teach C level seminars on this approach. In addition, I regularly provide trainings through the International Institute for Integrative Attachment Therapy (IAT). Before working in psychotherapy, I worked as a business consultant and supported large scale change management projects.

Alongside my work in psychotherapy, I have practiced meditation for more than 15 years. I began with Vipassana in the tradition of S. N. Goenka and mindfulness practice. Over the last 10 years, I have focused on Mahayana and Vajrayana, especially Mahamudra and Dzogchen, under the guidance of Daniel P. Brown and Dustin DiPerna. In this context, I offer courses aimed at reducing meditation related adverse effects and avoiding risks such as spiritual bypassing. I also develop approaches that integrate Western psychotherapy, especially attachment focused therapy, with contemplative methods.

Loki, Athena und Hera

Loki, Athena, and Hera are my unofficial co therapists. They remind me that inner calm rarely comes from trying harder, but from presence, rhythm, and enough pauses.

In everyday life, they are my quiet teachers. When I get stuck in my head, they bring me back to the here and now in their own very particular timing. And whenever I think I have the day under control, they offer a gentle counterproof.
